ARMONK, NY: IBM is expanding its SoftLayer Direct Link Services through new partnerships with multiple network and data center providers to help enterprises adopt hybrid cloud infrastructure. The company has already inked deals with Verizon, Equinix, Digital Reality, InterXion, NextDC and Colt.
Organizations require secure and reliable cloud connections that eliminate the need to transfer data over the public internet. The new services provide IBM with better colocation capabilities that help companies house their own cloud infrastructures in secure boxes inside IBM cloud data centers. The services connect straight into the IBM cloud network from 13 global data center locations. From there, companies can enhance their flexibility by moving workloads in and out of the IBM Cloud as part of their local networks.

The new services will save enterprises the cost of replacing their hardware as they move to the cloud, thereby, giving access to secure and faster networks. Moreover, Direct Link offers global reach and support to companies in addressing issues related to auditing and reporting guidelines for a multi-cloud architecture.
